An "editorial hole" is the space that remains after the advertisement is placed on the page. The editorial holes appear in different dimensions and positions. The editorial holes are on the editorial layer, while ads have to be on the ads layer.
IMPORTANT: APM mandatory prerequisite is that ads are placed on a separate layer, and that the APM content is on the first editorial layer.
A full-page (FP) editorial hole covers in a contiguous way the entire useful workspace of the page. |
A horizontal split (HS) editorial hole covers the top part of the page while ads with the uniform height cover the bottom. |
A vertical split (VS) editorial hole covers the left or the right part of the page while the rest is occupied by stacked ads with the same width. |
A non-contiguous editorial hole on corner ads covers the space that remains above and on the side of stacked ads with the same width. The ads can be on the left or on the right side, but not on top. |
Other supported combinations include L and inverted L ads displacement, add stacks and some other combinations.
