The name of edition is displayed in the various places in the user interface. The following screenshots display the default values as per standard configuration. Your configuration and the appearance may be different. The screenshots display the edition with the name [name] and with the edition number (1).
On the navigator listing on the Editions and Tracking main tab
The date, name and number are all displayed in separate columns. You can configure what appears there by editing the directory style List in the file FRED4_CONFIG.XML in the base query Fred4Editions.
On the Edition Spike dialog on the Editions main tab

The title name, date, name and number are displayed from the variable edition descName. You can configure what appears in the label by editing the parent title properties as explained in Configure edition names with the syntax explained in Editions names.
On the drop-down list on the Pages main tab
