Where do I start?

This section leads you through the summary of the first steps with the GN4 suite.

If you are not familiar with the software for the digital newsrooms and interested to know more, you may want to read first the Introduction to the GN4 Suite. If you are interested only for the digital archiving, then look at the Tark4 documentation (Web help). If your primary point of interest is a content ingestion system you can connect to any CMS, then look at the GNPortal/I4 documentation (Web help).

The first step is to find where is the GN4 on your computer (if it is installed). See Where do I find GN4 on my computer?

Then, choose the right GN4 application for your tasks. This depends from where do you connect, which device you are using and what you want to do. See What application should I use?

If the GN4 is not installed on your computer and you are considering to install it by yourself, look at Designing and Installing GN4 chapter first and then perform the installation steps as described. As an alternative, you can use the ClickOnce access to run GN4 on your computer, connecting to a remote server (production, demo, or test), assuming it exists and it is configured. See Run GN4 through ClickOnce.
