Use Styles frame parameter

You can specify some style codes and assign them to the Use Styles object parameters.

IMPORTANT: insert the Use Styles values only on the first frame of the flow!

To assign the style codes, edit object parameters and then key-in the appropriate code.

The list of predefined codes

C/<tagname> e.g. C/by01

This code is suitable to apply a series of chained styles starting from the first paragraph till the end of the text, e.g. for bylines, intros etc.

It performs the following actions:

1.Enters in the text editing, expecting that the text is linked to a frame.

2.Select all text in all the linked frames, starting from the selected one.

3.Clears all paragraph and character styles.

4.Applies the chained style starting from the first paragraph.

5.Closes the text editing.

F/<tagname> e.g. F/firstpara

This code is suitable to apply a single style on the first paragraph, e.g. to remove the standard indent from the first line of text.

It performs the following actions:

1.Enters in the text editing, expecting that the text is linked to a frame.

2.Select all text in all the linked frames, starting from the selected one.

3.Clears all paragraph and character styles.

4.Applies the specified style on the first paragraph.

5.Closes the text editing.

P/<tagname> e.g. P/pq01

This code is suitable for the special pull quotes where the first paragraph is empty but formatted, and the required symbols are embedded in the first style.

It performs the following actions:

1.Enters in the text editing, expecting that the text is linked to a frame.

2.Select all text in all the linked frames, starting from the selected one.

3.Clears all paragraph and character styles.

4.Removes up to 2 empty paragraphs. on the beginning of the text

5.Applies the specified style on the first paragraph.

6.Inserts and end-of-paragraph.

7.Closes the text editing.

p/<tagname> e.g. p/pq01

This code is suitable for the special pull quotes where the first two paragraphs are a pull quote, but the rest of the text is to be considered as a sidebar.

3.Clears all paragraph and character styles.

4.Removes up to 2 empty paragraphs. on the beginning of the text

5.Applies the specified style on the first paragraph.

6.Inserts and end-of-paragraph.

7.Select all text

8.Applies the style as chained

9.Closes the text editing.
