The clipboard works also between two sessions of Ted4 or Fred4. So you can connect with two Freds to two different systems, and copy & paste between them.
If the block you have selected contains any GNML tags, these will be pasted too. If the GNML tags were hidden when you performed the move operation, you may be unaware of this fact. Unexpected problems could arise in some special cases of complex formatting. The only remedy is to remove the offending commands from the pasted block. Please pay special attention when moving/copying blocks between stories, as some GNML tags may refer to a specific library of styles that is not assigned to the destination text: this will cause a justification error. To overcome this problem, remove the offending commands from destination text or to link the same format. The 'clipboard' is a special part of memory, dedicated to store any temporary data. Please note that the clipboard may contain only one item at a time. Whenever you perform either a copy or a deletion of any block, the block is placed temporarily onto the clipboard. this causes the data previously contained on the clipboard to be removed without issuing any warning. When pasting text between different programs: •Only the plain text will be pasted in the designated file. •Each line of the pasted text could be converted into a paragraph. This will disrupt the original flow of the pasted block. Replace each of these end-of-paragraph marks with a space in order to restore the correct text flow. |
