To delete in text, do one of the following:

To delete a character left of the insertion point, press the BACKSPACE key.

To delete a character right of the insertion point, or a selected block, press the DEL key.

When deleting tags while displayed, have in mind that if the I-beam is right before or after tag, the entire tag with > and < brackets gets deleted at once, while if the I-beam is within the tag, you can delete also the parts of the tag.

To delete tags when hidden, see Delete tags when hidden.

Note: the deleting in text is affected also by a special 'protect' editing mode.

To delete by replacing, see Finding and replacing.
