The filtering defaults of a format consist in assigning of a type, category, and geometry depth, to match types of texts and frames.
Such filtering simplifies the selection of formats, displaying in a list only the formats, which make sense for the current text, and hiding all other, unsuitable formats.
Matching of formats and text
Matching of formats and text uses several methods, you can freely combine:
•Type: if you enable type filtering, and specify a type in a format, the format is listed in the list of available formats only for the stories which share the same type. Example
For the format named '32' you enabled type filtering, and assigned the type head to it. This means that the format 32 will appear in the list of available formats only for stories of the head type, and not for the stories of body type, or without a type. |
•Text category: if you specify a category in a format, it is included in the list of formats only for the stories which share the same category.
•Text geometry: if you specify the range of depth in a format (minimum and maximum depth), it is included in the list of formats only for the stories which have the geometry in the same range.
The selection of formats for local texts and for master pages is unchanged: all the available formats are listed.
