Clipping path application may fail in variety of cases:

If you replaced an existing placeholder to which you applied the runaround, with a image. In such case, the runaround is "applied" on the placeholder shape, and not on the clipping path. Running Page.ImgImportPath restores the runaround on the clipping path, but also uncrops the image.

If a clipping path was not saved with a image.

If a stored clipping path is too complex. This can happen if you use "magic wand" in Photoshop to create clipping paths. Such method can create too many nodes, or re-entrant nodes. It is recommended to create clipping paths manually.

Clipping path removed cropping...

Re-applying a clipping path with Page.ImgImportPath over a cropped image, removes all cropping and restores a image to uncropped dimensions. This cannot be avoided at the present time.

Clipping path looks bad when printed...

When you clear Don't clip when printing option, the shape of the image (if non-rectangular) is not used as a clipping path when printing the image, this means that if the image does not contain a clipping path itself it will be printed wrongly, but if it does contain one it will use only its own - usually created with PhotoShop and more precise - instead of the imprecise Fred4 one. This option is enabled automatically when a clipping path is imported from the image EPS.  .
