Fred4 supports images with one or more clipping paths. Clipping paths can be created in photo processing package (e.g. PhotoShop), and then imported with the image. In version 1.5 or newer, you can save a image in JPG, TIF or EPS format. In versions prior to 1.5, you have to save a image as EPS only

When loading a clipped image over an existing object, replacing it, the clipping path is used.

Alternatively, paths can be created directly in Fred4. Such clipping paths can be made in a manual way, or by automatic selection.
