In Ted4/Fred4, on the Articles main tab

You can select an article element (make it current) on the article tree, in the source pane, on the WYSIWYG pane, and by keys.

To select an article element by various methods, do one of the following:

On the article tree, click the article element name. A single click will not initiate text editing, but it will make the element current (double-click it to start editing text of that element).

In the source pane, click in the open element. This puts the focus of the editing to that element and continues editing of that element.

On the WYSIWYG pane: click within the frame of that element. This initiates the editing of that element.

For the use of the keys, see Using keys to select and edit article elements in Ted4.

In Fred4, on a page

Do one of the following

Click any frame of a linked article to select its element

Display the Article palette, and then click the article element to make it current.

In Article Editor on User browser

In the Article Editor pop-up window, click the element in the article tree (left pane) to open it for editing. You can edit only one article element at a time.

In I4

Click the element in the drop-down list with elements to open it for editing. You can edit only one article element at a time.
