To select notes mode level

1.On the Type menu, point to Character, and then click Characters palette.
2.On the H&M tab, enter the number in the Notes mode code box, different than 0 (makes text visible) or 1 (default hidden text). Contact your Systems Administrator for the list of notes mode numbers that correspond to different publishing channels.

Notes

Notes mode (or hidden text) may have different levels. Any level different than 0 will hide text from printed and WYSIWYG output.

Level 1 is typically used for notes mode / blind text.

Levels 2 through 32767 may be optionally used for post-processing, e.g. to route automatically the parts of text to different media, for which you didn't create appropriate regions. For example, all blocks, marked with level 3 may go to syndication. Such action is subject of customizing.

You can select notes mode level on the Hyp. and notes tab of the Text palette, or by inserting the tag >rem mode_level, 1< before the text you want to comment out, and >rem 0,0< after the text.
