When a text is justified, it is possible to find out how long it will be in a newspaper column. Look at the 8th field of the status bar.

This step is not needed when editing text on page, as during text editing in Fred4 it is not possible to turn off the justification.

On the Tools menu, point to Text Justification, and then click Justify text.
