1.Click anywhere in a paragraph formatted by a style, you want to modify, or select some text. 2.Click the appropriate icon in the toolbar, or on the Type menu, point to Paragraph, and then click Update/Create Paragraph Style From Selection, or point to Character, and then click Update/Create Character Style From Selection. This displays the style dialog box (a paragraph style dialog box is show below; the character style looks the same, but the paragraph related controls are dimmed; moreover, the style editing dialog box looks the same as the style creating dialog box, but it just has a different dialog title). 3.In Tag Name, change the tag name if you want, but be careful - in all articles where the old tag name was used, this will cause the formatting error. 4.In Style Name, change the descriptive name if you want, but be careful - if there are scripts that use the old name to insert style, they will fail after you change the name. Steps from 5 through 8 apply only on paragraph styles. 5.In Next paragraph style, specify which style is applied after the current style when you press 8, or leave it empty. 6.In Paragraph copy fit, select from the list the copy fitting method for the style or leave it empty. 7.Select Fill last paragraph line if you want the copy fitting to expand the last or only line of the text to fit horizontally. 8.In Minimum and Maximum, leave the fields empty, or specify the minimum/maximum number of the lines in the paragraph 9.In Style Commands, if expanded, review or edit tags of the style. 10.In Tags, select the XML style to mark this style when exporting to Web and other channels. Click Write Tag to fill-in automatically the XML Output box. |

Note
One of the advantages of using styles is that when you change the definition of a style, all of the text formatted with that style changes to match the new style definition. When editing styles, have in mind that they are global on the system level, and possible used in many articles, also on advanced pages. If you significantly change properties of any given style, articles that were brought to fit may turn into overset or underset.
