To apply italic or boldface
1. | Start text editing, and then highlight the part of text, or just click in the text where you want to type something in bold or italic. |
2. | On the Type menu, point to Character, and then click Italic or Bold, or click the appropriate font style icon in the toolbar, or press SHIFT+CTRL+I or SHIFT+CTRL+B. |
You can also apply italic or boldface on the Font palette, by selecting a bold/italic member of the font.
To remove italic or boldface
Repeat the same steps as when applying them - they're toggles indeed, or:
1. | Start text editing, and then highlight the part of text from where you want to remove bold/italic. |
2. | On the Type menu, point to Character, and then click Plain or press SHIFT+CTRL+N. |
Notes
•The boldface and italic style are available only for those fonts which have a bold or italic version. Otherwise, the formatting will not change.
•When you type more text in a block that is formatted in either style, the new text is automatically formatted in the same style, even if you add text before first character and after the last character.
•If you selected Use video fonts in the general text editing preferences, the font change is visible also in the source pane.
