In order to share the content (articles) with different format and geometry in different editions, the layers of those editions must belong to different regions.

Let's assume you want to share the article British Airways that flows on the page 6 in the edition Daily Journal (first), also on the page 14 of the edition Dailu Journal (second). on the layer R14.

On the following screenshot you see that the original article is on the layer R6 in the Print region of the edition Daily Journal (first).

On the following screenshot you see that the target page 14 of of the edition Daily Journal (second), 14 contains a layer R14 in the Print1 region. The layer R14 belongs to a region different than Print, e.g. Print1.

To share content with different format/geometry

1.Open the page with the original article, select all its shapes and then on the Edit menu, click Copy.

2.Close the page, and then open the page of the target edition.

3.Select the layer with the different region of the original layer. See How do I assign a region to a layer? if you need to set the region.

4.On the Edit menu, click Paste.

5.Now, change what you want in the article layout: number and width of columns, format of body, headline and other elements and so on. The layout and format changes won't affect any other edition with the same article. You can also apply the fitting of the text.

Important: do not change anything in the text, unless you find a typo as all the editions share the same text. After any change, you need to check the fitting on all pages where that article appears.

To check the content fitting quickly

The best way is to open the article on the Articles tab, and then to review regions, one by one.

The following screenshot shows the article in the region Print, and as the frames have the blue border, you see that the content is fitting. You can, however, zoom the view, edit text directly or in the sidebar.

The following screenshot shows the article in the region Print1, and as the frames have the red border, you see that the content is not fitting. Return to the Pages main tab, and fix the layout.
