Rotate objects by keys
While one or more objects are selected and the rotation tool is active, press:
•Left arrow to rotate counter clockwise, or right arrow to rotate clockwise, for 0.1°, around hot-spot.
•Up arrow to reset the rotation to 0°.
•Down arrow to set the rotation to 180°.
Note
The substantial difference when rotating multiple selection by palette/keys and by mouse, is that keys rotate around hotspot of each object, while mouse rotates around common rotation reference point.
The Degrees field of the Rotation palette behaves differently for single and for multiple selection. When a single element is selected, or if you select multiple elements but all of them are rotated for the same degree, the field updates while you are rotating the object, and when you release the button, it shows the final degree of rotation. You can then use the spin control to rotate additionally in steps of 1 degree, or to enter a value, and by clicking the confirmation icon, rotate to that value. Enter 0 to reset rotation to 0. In you select more objects, and some of them are rotated with different degrees, the Degrees field is empty. |
