A quota can be associated to a partition which defines the maximum number of objects and/or the maximum sizes for all objects belonging to the partition.

As objects are created, modified, deleted or un-deleted, the partition is checked, and an error reported if any of the quota limits are exceeded.

The use of quotas is optional, but they can be very handy for allocating and managing the space in the content store.
