Fred4 supports printing and nonprinting objects.

Normally, printing objects are text (in text frames), images, boxes, vertical and horizontal rules. Such objects will by default appear on the printout - except if you suppress them, by selecting them on a page, and then clearing the Printable check-box on the Misc tab of the Control palette.

Nonprinting objects are: text frames, vertical and horizontal guides, top, left, right and bottom margin rules. Such objects will never appear on the printout.

You can exclude specific page objects from being printed. Such objects remain displayed on page, but they won't be printed.

Set selected object as nonprinting

On the Misc tab of the Control palette, clear the Printable check-box.

Enable nonprinting object to be printed

Select the object, and then on the Misc tab, select the Printable check-box.

Display only printable objects on the page

On the View menu, click Printable objects.
