The Rebooting GN4 Servers chapter includes instructions related to rebooting of GN4 related servers. It explains the relationship between GN4 servers regarding reboot, how to reboot GN4 database servers.
Before you reboot a GN4 server
Check carefully if there are processes, running on local machine or on other servers that depend on the server you are about to reboot. An example may be a Back4, running on another server, polling the folder on the server you're about to reboot.
If you reboot a server without preparing other processes, they may fail without any warning and could not able to recover when you restart a server you've stopped.
After the reboot is complete, a restore procedure is required to ensure the correct functioning of system. It is also useful to execute some check-ups, just to be sure that everything is working fine again.
Avoid, if possible, to reboot the database servers during production time. Respect the rebooting order!
