The Windows or Internet Explorer cache is used by GN4 to cache data on the client computers. In this documentation, the GN4 client cache corresponds to the Internet Explorer cache, or to WinINET cache (a Fiddler term).

You can manage the GN4 client cache by displaying Internet Options (Tools > Internet Options or Control Panel > Internet Options).

Delete the GN4 client cache

You may attempt to delete the GN4 client cache if GN4 client applications refuse to start, displaying the Unable to load the XML schema, error 'Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.' (ERR0145) error, or with some other error.

Do one of the following:

On the client computer, run the Control Panel, click Internet Options, and then under Browsing History, click Delete. Untick Preserve Favorite website data, tick Temporary Internet files and website data, and Cookies and website data. Click Delete to delete and close the dialog box. Click Apply, and then click OK.

On the client computer, run Fiddler, and then on the Tools menu, click clear WinINET cache.

The next launch of a GN4 client application will rebuilt the GN4 client cache.
