Use the Split in columns dialog box to split in columns selected frame or box.
N.of columns | allows to enter the number of columns to split the frame into. By default, this field contains the number of regular columns that frame is covering. |
Gutter | allows to enter the gutter (space between consecutive columns). By default, this field contains the default gutter of the current page. |
Keep object | this check box allows to decide whether the new created columns should replace the original frame/box, or the original object should remain after splitting. The check-box is object-sensitive, therefore its default value when a box is selected is "on", and when a frame is selected is "off". |
Rules | this check box allows to decide whether the new created columns should have intercolumn rules between them or not. |
Link to text | this check box allows to decide whether the new created columns should be automatically linked to the current text (if any) or not. The check-box is status-sensitive, therefore its default value when a linked frame is selected is "on", and when a unlinked frame is selected is "off". |
Margins | these four fields allow to specify the independent white space values between the original object and new created columns. Note: if the field "Keep object" is unchecked, and the margins are greater than 0, the new created columns will be shrunk in respect of original object, but no margins will appear, because the original object will be gone. |
[Equal] | this button allows to make all four margins equal. |
