Undelete editions by command line

Build 1501 on 14/Nov/2017  This topic last edited on: 8/Jan/2016, at 17:05

You can undelete an entire edition in a single operation:

cmd4 unspike -ids XXXX -extend master.editionRef,page.editionRef,pageLayer.editionRef,linkObject.pageLayers.editionRef,txtGeometry.jumps -recurse

where xxxx is the name of a GN4 user who can logon to system with sufficient permissions to perform this operation and yyyy is the password.

Note: the above connects to the default connection: should you want to specify the connection or server name, see cmd4 examples.

The above command undeletes the edition with id XXXX with all its master pages, pages and layers. Images, texts and articles that are liked to the edition pages and that are deleted are undeleted as well and will still be linked to the proper page/layer.

Images that were linked to the deleted pages but not deleted will be re-linked.

Important
Texts/articles that were linked but not deleted will NOT be re-linked - this is a limitation unavoidable at the moment being.
