In any production environment there will be content objects that go through different steps as part of the production – for example stories or pages that go through revisions/approval/publishing. These steps usually are represented within the system by a ‘state’ attribute – either directly (e.g. the workstate of a page in GN3) or indirectly (e.g. the basket for articles and texts in GN3).
There is a mechanism to declare and handle explicitly state definition and changes in GNPortal/Tark4/GN4, called audit.
