Palettes sidebar is a different form of a Control palette, containing the same palettes. Typically, it is docked to the side of the screen.

To display the palettes in the sidebar

Open at least one page and then click the expander button <.

To select which palettes are displayed in the sidebar, on the Windows menu, point to Palettes Sidebar, and then click what you want.

The palettes in the sidebar can be collapsed or expanded. To toggle the palette status, double-click its name bar.

When palettes are expanded, you can change their position by dragging them for the vertical dotted bar. Have in mind that at the current time, non drag rectangle is shown, so there's a bit of guessing how much you have to drag it before it switches the place with another palette. The rule of thumb is to drag it for its entire height.
