Server configuration
Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 server or 2008R2 Standard 64bit
SQL 2012 or 2008 Standard 64bit (recommended)
Double QuadCore CPU
24GB RAM (minimum)
2 Gigabit net card
1 local disc for System
1 local disc (RAID5 or RAID1-0) for database
1 local disc (RAID5 or RAID1-0) for file system storage and indexes
Description
The main server is running the active SQL server that’s replicated via script on the backup server.
Storage on file system is replicated onto the backup server via an incremental copy.
The backup server is running the main full-text Index service. The indexes are replicated using the Exalead functionality on the Main server.
IIS is running in load balancing on both servers.
All the traffic between the servers is done on the Ethernet backbone.
Pros:
•Fault tolerant configuration
•Only two servers to manage
Cons:
•Index server and SQL are running together on the same disc
•In case of a failover everything will run on one server with poor performance
•This configuration is not suitable for audio/video processing
Apply to scenario "Light". Not suitable for other scenarios.
