In Ted4 and Fred4 you can collapse or expand the navigator. When navigator is expanded, it appears on the left side of the main window.

After you are done with searching, collapse navigator to unclutter screen and give more space to the content you are managing. The navigator data is preserved, so when you expand it again, you can continue your searching where you left it.

To expand the navigator, locate its expander button in the upper left corner of the main window, above the vertical "Navigator" label, typically below menu bar and toolbars (if any), and click it. The navigator expands. An alternative: press ALT+N.

The expander button is always displayed.

If the expander button is oriented to the left, it means the navigator is already displayed. Clicking the button will hide it.

As you can reduce the width of the navigator pane, make sure that navigator is not narrowed too much, and that's why you can't locate it.

On some toolbars, there might exist an icon to toggle the navigator status. For example, on the Articles main tab, on the main toolbar, click the icon:

229_ToggleNavigator_16

In the GN4 browser, the navigator typically cannot be collapsed.
