Normally, you will want to purge archived and deleted published paper editions with all pages and all linked content.

The default GN4 configuration that uses the Back4 scheduling of purging and deleting will purge only deleted editions together with the linked content (articles, images, etc), as long as all the folders with linked content are assigned to a partition for which you enabled extend spike.
