About personal workspaces

GN4 provides a simple way to store and recall a personal displacement of tools, panes, palettes, listings and search criteria, in so called workspaces.

The workspaces are per user. No workspace exists by default, except if the Administrators deployed workspaces to more users.

A workspace include:

All opened main tabs, in the order they appear on screen. Example: in Fred4, you have opened Pages, Articles, Editions, Contacts and Publishing main tabs, and the Contacts main tab is currently in the foreground. When you save a workspace on any of those main tabs, it includes all of them, with the current main tab in the foreground.

The size, position and status (expanded/collapsed) of toolbars, panes, palettes (with the selected measurement system) on all opened main tabs.

(Optionally) the current search criteria and current results on any search pane on all opened main tabs, with the directory style settings of all currently displayed listings on all opened main tabs.

(Optional) restoring of the main window size.

Note

You cannot create more than 20 workspaces.
