Carbon copies are the special article versions, automatically created in the source folder (if enabled), each time when an article is sent from that folder. The purpose of the carbon copies is to keep a legal copy as it was before editing.

You need to activate the carbon copies creation for each folder individually, because it's turned off by default. Usually, the carbon copies are to be enabled only on the personal folders, but you can enable them also on editing folders.

A carbon copy of an article is identical to the original article as it was sent from a folder.

GN4 supports unlimited number of carbon copies.

Notes

'createCarbon' is a Boolean attribute of folder (the object referenced by 'folderRef'). Each time an object change state (i.e. it is moved to a different folder), the system checks 'createCarbon' in the source folder, and if it is true creates a copy of the object.
