The HTML Help viewer saves such session information as the window position and favorites, for each help file separately. The database file Hh.dat is automatically updated every time the HTML Help Viewer is used.

This file is located under the C:\Users\<your_account_name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\HTML Help on Windows 10, 8x, 7 and Vista, and under the C:\Documents And Settings\<your_account_name<\Application Data\Microsoft\HTML Help directory on Windows XP. If the database file does not exist, it is re-created.

To change the position and the size of the HTML Help viewer window

To change the position and the size of the HTML Help viewer window, just move it where you want and resize it as you want.

To restore the factory size of GN4 help window

To restore the factory size of GN4 help window, delete Hh.dat.

Deleting Hh.dat causes the help "favorites" settings to be lost.
