Methods of importing graphics

Import images from Fred4 or Ted4

1.Run Fred4 or Ted4, and then on the File menu, point to Upload and then do of the following:

a)To import images "as-is", select Upload any content/ no converting.
Images will appear as 'image' in the folder you select, and you or other users can crop them later on.

b)To import images and convert them to 'editorial image' format, keeping the original size, select Upload images/ convert to editorial image.
Images will appear as 'editorial image' in the folder you select. Such images cannot be cropped anymore in articles, but only on page.

c)To import images and convert them to 'editorial image' format, and optionally cropping them, select Upload images with crop/ convert to editorial image.
Images will appear as 'editorial image' in the folder you select. Such images cannot be cropped anymore in articles, but only on page.

2.If in the step #1 you've selected options a) or b), select the appropriate folder, and enter other data, click Next

3.Click Browse, select all images to be imported, and then click Open.

4.Wait until images are imported in database.

5.Click Finish.

Import images from GN4 browser

1.Run GN4 browser, and then on the New menu, click Upload.

2.Select the appropriate folder and optionally fill-in other fields. Note: if you leave the Title field empty, the original filenames are used.

3.Click Next, and then click Browse.

4.Select all images to be imported, and then click Open.

5.Wait until images are imported in database.

6.Click Finish.

Import images through Back4 hot-folder

Drop a graphics file in an BACK4 input folder - it gets automatically imported in the database.

Note: this requires that Back4 is properly configured on your GN4 system.
