Summary of drawing a rule, or arrow, ellipse, rectangle, or polygon

On the Pages main tab, in the toolbox, do one of the following:

To draw a rectangular text placeholder of body type, click the Frame tool fred_frameico.

To draw a different text placeholder, right-click the Frame tool fred_frameico, and then from the menu, select what you want.

To draw a rectangular image placeholder, click the Image tool fred_icon_picturetool.

To draw a different image placeholder, right-click the Image tool fred_icon_picturetool, and then from the menu, select the Ellipse Frame tool fredico_ellipseframetool etc.

To draw a rule, click the Rule tool fred_ruletool_icon and then drag on the page window to create it. If dragged selection is wider than higher, you will create a horizontal rule, otherwise a vertical rule. See Creating a straight horizontal or vertical rule.

To draw an open path, or arrow, right-click the Rule tool fred_ruletool_icon , and then from the menu, select the Open path tool fredicopentool, or the Arrow tool fredico_arrowtool.

To draw a box shape, click the Box tool fred_boxico.

To draw a polygon or a closed freeform, right-click the Box tool fred_boxico, and then from the menu, select Closed path tool office0199, Circle tool fredico_circletool, Ellipse tool fredico_ellipsetool, Concave tool fredico_concavetool, Romb tool fredico_rombtool, Rounded box tool fredico_roundedboxtool, Triangle tools fredico_triangle_uptool and fredico_triangle_dntool.

Now, drag on the page to define the size of the object and then release the left mouse button to place it.

To display the toolbox, on the Window menu point to Toolbars, and then click Toolbox.
