Protect paginated article against content modification

You can protect a paginated article against content modifications if your lock level is greater than 0, if the article you are trying to lock are not already protected, and if the page layer you are working on is not protected.

When a user in Ted4 or on the Articles main tab in Fred4 attempts to edit locked text, the warning: This text cannot be modified! is displayed. At the present time, this does not affect editing articles in I4 - it ignores the content lock setting. Moreover, even if you lock the article content, you can still continue to edit it on page in Fred or in the source sidebar.

Note: on a locked text, you can initiate editing, read the typographical information, display tags in the Text Editor pane, but you cannot change content.

To protect single text element of an article

Select any of its linked frames, and then on the Layout menu, select Lock Content.

To protect all elements of an article

Select entire article (Edit > Select > Article), and then on the Layout menu, select Lock Content.

Method 3 (for Ted4 and I4)

To protect selected articles, send them in a folder which is inaccessible to Ted4 users.

To unprotect them, send them back in a folder, which is accessible to Ted4 users.
