This assumes that one or more page books, containing edition template pages, are created beforehand, containing required pages. See To create a page book and other topics in the same chapter.
1.On the Pages main tab in Fred4, open the page of the work edition ie. where you want to create a full page layout from the page book. The page should be empty. If the target page is not empty, have in mind that all layers of the target page are automatically deleted and the articles/images unlinked from the layers, but article/images are not deleted.
2.On the Pages Navigator, select the page book. This will display, in the Navigator, the list of pages in that page book.
3.Select a page on the Navigator, and then do one of the following:
•Press and hold CTRL, and then drag the page over the target page. There is no prompt, and all actions are performed automatically. Note: this may take several seconds. The target folder is predefined as explained in Planning a page book target folder for articles.
•Press and hold SHIFT and CTRL, and then drag the page over the target page. If the target page contains any object, you are prompted to confirm to delete layers. If you select No, the page book layers will be added to the existing layers (that is typically not a good idea, as content will overlap). If you select Yes, the original layers on the target page are deleted and replaced with the copy of layers from the page book. Next, you are prompted with the Article Copy dialog, to review the destination folder and the new names. If you click OK, the copy is performed. It may take several seconds. If you click Cancel, the copy is aborted.
4.Save the target page and then start to work on articles.
