Create a freeform open path

To draw a freeform path

1.Right-click the Rule tool fred_ruletool_icon , and then from the menu, select the Open path tool fredicopentool. The pointer changes to fredico_pathtool

2.Click where you want to start the rule.

3.Do one of the following:

To create a straight rule, double-click where you want the rule to end.

To create a rule with multiple points, click where you want next point to be.

Note: The first segment you draw will not be visible until you click a second point.

4.Double-click or press Enter to end the rule.

5.If you make a mistake, press Delete to remove the last point.

6.Double-click or press Enter on the last point.

If you press the Esc key, the drawing is aborted.

The path must not cross itself, and there should be no two coincident points.

A beep is issued trying to create an invalid shape.

Ensure that the Toolbox is displayed, or on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Toolbox.

To close an open path

Since the version 2.4, you can close an open path at any time later.

Select an open path, right-click it and then select Close Open Path.
