When you create a double page (spread) master based on a single page master, external margins of new spread are equal to the left margin of the source master, and the internal margins are equal to the right margin of source master. If that is not what you want, you may change external or internal margins. When you do this, the column width are not adjusted automatically. Thus, you have to recalculate the column sizes.

1.Open a master.
2.On the Layout menu, click Master Setup. In Margin outer and Margin inner, enter new margins. Click Ok.

The page is redrawn and you may notice that columns do not fit any more into workspace.

3.Insert a frame on the left side of the spread, align it on left margin, and then it make it as wide as the left side of the spread.
4.On the Tools menu, point to Split, and then click Choose. In Width, read the column width value. Click Cancel to close the dialog box.
5.On the Layout menu, click Master Setup.
6.In Column width, enter the column width value you've read in step #4.
7.Click ok_icon.
