Enable auto-justification of text

You may want to enable the auto-justification when editing text on the Articles main tab in Ted4 or Fred4.

The auto-justification automatically justifies the text with the pre-selected paragraph alignment, in the predefined column width (if text is not linked to any page, and has no local area), or in the current column width, hyphenates the text and enables fitting (if text is linked to a page or has a local area).

The default setting: disabled.

The recommended setting: enabled.

The justification status is displayed in the field #3 of the status bar. When enabled, it reads Inter, otherwise it is blank.

To enable default auto-justification of text

1.On the Edit menu of the Articles main tab, or on the Edit menu of the Pages main tab while editing text, click Preferences.

2.On the Main tab, under Interactive justification/counter, tick Enabled.

Notes

You can disable the auto-justification of text on the Articles main tab only if the WYSIWYG pane is closed.

The auto-justification of text is always enabled on the Pages main tab in Fred, even when editing text in the source pane - Text Editor.

Even if the auto-justification is disabled by default, it is automatically turned on when you display the WYSIWYG pane.

About saving preferences in database

When you click OK, the preferences are updated in the memory and applied right-on. GN4 will store the preference in the database when you exit application. Anyway, should your GN4 crash or exit in any other abnormal way, the preference will not be stored in database, and you will have to repeat the previously described steps.

This preference is stored in the Editorial_SystemUserConfig for the securityRef corresponding to the user name. To display that configuration, open EdAdmin4, click Client Applications, expand the search pane in the left sidebar, in the Name enter editorial, and in the securityRef select the name of the user. Double-click the Editorial_SystemUserConfig to open the content. Locate the preference by name.
