Delete or undelete editions

To delete the current edition (opened by you)

1.On the Editions main tab, on the File menu, click Delete Current Editions.

To delete one or more editions (not opened)

2.Make sure that editions are not in editing by anyone.

3.On the navigator of the Editions main tab, in the Title field, select a title.

4.On the File menu, click Delete/Undelete Editions.

5.In the upper part of the dialog box, select one or more live editions, and then click Delete.

To undelete one or more editions

1.On the File menu of the Editions main tab, click Delete/Undelete Editions.
2.Select one or more editions, and then click Undelete.

Notes

Deleting an edition is is time consuming process that might take, depending on the series of factors between 50 and 100 seconds or more. During the deleting, you cannot use Fred for other tasks. Have this in mind before attempting to delete many editions at once.

You can sort the editions list by any column.

If an edition cannot be deleted, this means that either the edition, or its elements, are locked.  See Unlock (recover) edition elements.

Deleted editions and templates do not prevent you to create a new edition or template with the same date/name/number as the deleted one: the deleted edition or template will be automatically renamed when undeleted.
