Build 1501 on 14/Nov/2017  This topic last edited on: 27/Oct/2016, at 17:49

This chapter describes the installation phases of a GN4 system.

The length of time for each phase is an estimate based on our past experiences. The total estimated time is 22 to 31 weeks. Miles 33 staff will make every effort to work with you to help you meet your schedule and goals.

You will be asked to assign an Editorial and a Systems/IT coordinator for the project. They should be senior members of their respective departments. They will be the main points of contact with the Miles 33 team. Between them they should have a thorough working knowledge of the systems, production, copy flow, design and typography of your newspaper.

In preparation for your installation, the customer is asked to look at current workflow and procedures. This phase gives the opportunity to examine any areas where you'd like to implement changes.

You will also be asked to gather a variety of information and data, such as fonts, color blends, etc. We have provided you with a number of worksheets to assist you in organizing and gathering the required data. It is very important that these are accurate and complete. When you begin the configuration of your system we will enter the data directly from these worksheets.

During the System Specification phase, Miles 33 staff will review this survey with you. We estimate that it will take about 3 weeks to gather and organize all of the required information.
