Digital editions problems

A double page, exported to the digital edition, with two Postscript files, submitted to Adobe Distiller, causes unselectable texts on digital viewer. Moreover, the Postscript file of the left page side is 84Mb. During tests came out that the problem disappears if one of the text columns gets eliminated, or a dateline frame on the master. The PS file size reduces to 1.7Mb and the texts can be selected.

SOLUTION for the PS size: export the print configurations to XML, change the PS_transparencyQuality value from 8o to 100 (<KeyValue key="PS_transparencyQuality" value="100" />), and then reimport configurations. See RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE in version 2.3 for the further details.

Se la stampa della pagina generasse un pdf il problema non ci sarebbe ma in questo caso se n'era creato un altro sullo sfogliatore e Virtualcom ci aveva detto genericamente che era un problema del pdf. Da qui la decisione di passare al .ps

When zooming a page in the digital edition, and the page was imported from a PDF, generated by direct printing from Fred, some characters appear deformed.

SOLUTION: this is solved by an updated version of the digital edition viewer.
