To delete in text, do one of the following:

•To delete a character left of the insertion point, press BACKSPACE.

•To delete a character right of the insertion point, or a selected block, press DELETE .

•To delete an invisible character (fixed space) or GNML tag (if tags are hidden), click close to the position where you believe it is, and then press the CTRL+BACKSPACE key. Every key press removes an entire tag with all parameters.
