Date

The edition date is the date that the paper will publish. That is, the date that will appear on the front page and all of the folios. At the same time, the edition deadline time, at midnight of the specified date.

Date does not apply to edition templates.

Number

The edition number is an attribute chosen from a customizable table, so it can be '1', '2' etc. or 'Early', 'Late' and so on. The table of edition numbers is title-specific, i.e. each publication has its own.

Number does not apply to edition templates.

Name

The name of an edition is an arbitrary string of up to 32 characters, and it can be empty. That is an additional description of the edition. In most cases, the date and number are enough to identify an edition, and the edition name is usually not used. However, if you produce different versions of the same edition, or sections are built as separate editions, the use of an edition name may be required.

Description

An optional description of the edition or template

Workstate

Each edition has an associated workstate. This status can be used for a variety of purposes, such as interfacing to archiving systems, purging, etc. (See the section on workflow tracking for details on workstates.)

Workstate does not apply to edition templates.
