You can delete article and their text and graphic elements from the system.
The deleting operation is also called "spiking".
Deleting of article deletes also all its text elements, but not the linked images. The deleted article "disappears" from the listings, but it still may be retrieved in other ways and "unspiked". A deleted article and its elements will remain in the system until purged. Automatic purge (if configured) usually happens after 24 or 48 hours (customizable for each newspaper).
To be able to spike an article, you need to have a "delete" permission.
You can undelete only the articles that have been deleted in the folder where you have 'write' privileges.
Articles whose elements are linked to paper pages, or published on Web, cannot be deleted - you need to unlink/unpublish them first, or (not recommended) use the forcible deleting as explained in Deleting referenced items by command line.
