The Back4 service allows you to create a series of "queues" (the Tera term is "data source").

Each Back4 queue performs a specific content import task, e.g. polls a hot-folder, or extracts the content from a data feed, or from an e-mail, or from any other source.

An example of creation of data source to import wire stories is in Create a wire stories data source (queue).

All the Back4 queues run simultaneously and in parallel, until there are unused threads, and if the queue was not set for the serial execution.

If some queues have a higher priority, and there are not enough threads to run all the queues in parallel, then the queues with the higher priority are run before other queues.

You can stop (disable) and start each queue independently of others, but if you stop the Back4 service, all the queues will be stopped.
