APM handles both preformatted and plain text content, but not in combinations. Therefore, you can supply either:

•Preformatted texts: all the articles have to have the formatting already in place. In that case, the shapes must not have the Use Styles codes and the Auto-Apply Styles preference needs to be unticked.

•Plain texts: no articles should have the formatting in place. The shapes need to have the Use Styles codes, and the Auto-Apply Styles preference needs to be ticked.
