The workstates provide tracking of status of content stored in folders, such as articles, images, multimedia, etc, and of paper-published content, such as editions and pages or external documents.

The database contains an editable table of workstates, each one identified by a name, an associated color and an optional description.

During system configuring, you associate workstates to folders. In production, as soon as a content is dropped in a folder, it automatically attain the same workstate. For editions, pages and external documents, as they do not reside in folders, the assignment is manual or by scripting.

Workstates have various types, which provide, if required, separate workstates for different content. See Workstate levels.

The workstate search allows to retrieve elements across multiple folders.

Workstates are server wide, therefore, equal for all the titles on the same editorial server. If there are more titles on the same server, it is necessary to agree the common usage of workstate.

The number and colors of workstates is limited only by Windows.
