VirtualNewspaper, a member of the GNXpedio family of products, is, by nature, Multiplatform and can be delivered to Computer (Windows and Mac) iOS or Android-based Tablets and Smartphones, HTML5 and even Samsung SmartTVs.
The presentation can be newspaper-like, complete with laid out pages and a page-flip user interface, or news can be presented in newsreader style, with scrollable sections and articles. The choice is yours.
Regardless of how you present your news, your content can be protected via a subscription management engine which controls access, irrespective of which platform or device the reader may use. This customer-friendly approach is ideal for readers who switch between cellphone, tablet and PC throughout the day, depending on their location and activities.
Multiple workflows
Publishing to mobile devices is extremely straightforward and can support multiple workflows. For example, in a print-first workflow, completed PDF pages are used, perfect for archived editions (or current editions that become archives) and for publishiers who wish to give readers that “newspaper” feel. Pages can be zoomed and searched and a ist of articles can make reading and searching even easier. You can send links to articles to others and even post to Facebook and Twitter.
In Digital-First workflows, news can be published in real time. Newsroom staff can author, edit and prepare content in the GN4 content management system, then send to VirtualNewspaper with a single keystroke. Internally, the system works with XML, moving content into the cloud where your audience can read it, using the mobile device of their choice.
As a publisher, you can apply a multitude of “purchasing strategies” to convert readers to subscribers. For example, you can provide a free period of time to view the news after which the reader is presented with options: purchase a “single copy” or sign-up for a subscription. You are of course totally free to bundle multiple editions into compelling packages for your readers.
Some features of the Virtual Newspaper include:
•A Multi Media channel – present video and sound in a focused view so your audience can go straight to multimedia content if they wish.
