If the Update On Open menu command (Plug-Ins>GN4>Update On Open) is ticked (on) it will enable all the content Links within a page being opened to be updated during the opening extDoc process and thus ensure all the content displayed is the latest known version. By default, the option is ticked (on).

If the option is not ticked (off) then on opening a page the Links within it to the containing content will not be updated and some of the content may be out of date. A manual Links update can be performed by the operator when desired.
