In headline styles, style designers can define required number of lines for each headline element, e.g. for kicker, headline, subheadline and other. Such setting has to be defined for each headline paragraph style.
This provides better control in using headlines from the style book, as editors can clearly see how many lines are required in a headline element. It is also possible to test whether headlines respect this predefined structure.
This is an optional feature, and it is not enabled by default.
What happens if an headline element is too long, e.g. the main headline?
A too long element will overlap the next element, e.g. in this example, the main headline overlaps the sub-headline. |
When all elements are fitting, a headline structure appears as below:
The blue color of entire frame marks that the frame content (e.g. kicker, headline and subhead) fit. The blue color of paragraph grid marks that each element fits. |
