Multiple geometries

An article element can have a different geometry and format for each region- and so be linked to different layers for each region.

This means that if I am running a story in both the UK and US edition of my paper I don't have to duplicate it. I can link it directly to pages in both editions - even with different geometries and different formats (e.g. red headlines in the UK version that is printed in color, but black in the US one that is printed in black & white).

Copy-fit parameters are stored together with the geometry - and so it is possible to have different copy-fit depending on the geometry, e.g. reducing the point size of the UK version to 90% to fit the text in a smaller geometry than the US one.

It is also possible to mark parts of text as specific for a certain region - and so to adapt the content to the destination without unnecessary duplication (e.g. quote a price in pounds in the UK edition but in dollars in the US one).

In Ted4 it is possible to change the current region of the text or article being edited - seeing all the different possible geometries and contents.
